In Canada, are there ever crimes such as Robberies and Fraud or does this only happen in the USA?

In the USA there are some crimes where a person may sell what looks like a diamond ring or a rolex watch for what appears to be a discount price on a genuinely expensive item. Except the items are fake, so the seller makes HUGE profit.

Also sometimes people who don't have alarm systems get robbed.

But in Canada everyone can usually leave all their doors unlocked because these crimes are very very very infrequent, correct?
Additional Details
I like to think Canadians are all too nice to commit these crimes. Instead, everyone asks permission to borrow and return needed things from each other, like family.

Terrible things happen in Canada to. Friends of mine had their house broken into and many of their things stolen only a month ago. In some areas crime is less frequent then others but it happens all over no matter where you are. If you live in Rural Newfoundland or Vancouver British Columbia there is some crime.

Where I live people tend to leave some doors unlocked and car doors opened. In some areas this is fine, but I've had my car broken into and things taken.

Of course, you're exactly right.
We don't lock our doors because igloos don't have doors, plus everyone has a guard polar bear. We don't wear rolexs because you wouldn't see it underneath the parka we wear because it's so cold year round, and we just pick up a new diamond off the ground walking down the street(latest trend is all about Canadian diamonds)

Canada and Amercian criminals are pretty much peas in a pod. We have less violent crime and gun crime up here but certainly the nightly news has no shortage of events.
Roughly speaking, as an american you about 7 times more likely to be shot dead but robberies and petty crime stuff we suffer about the same level as comparable sized american cities.

Well, there are dumb a$$es everywhere you go, so petty crime is not limited to certain countries. You will find it in large cities and even small towns, although less common there. Where I live, North Bay, a city of 75,000 people, we rarely have anything more than domestic disputes or a break in by an ex lover to get back their things. Our news is dominated by Ladies Auxiliary Bake Offs, and Moose vs. Semi accidents. I rarely lock my doors, have only once used the alarm system on my vehicle, and own two HUGE Bull Mastiffs, so I am not worried about break ins. But my attitude would be different if I lived in a larger city, like Toronto, or Hamilton. More people=higher crime rate. We do have a MUCH lower violent crime rate when comparing other countries cities of likewise population. Crooks are everywhere, you can't escape them.

We don't have doors on the igloos, so how could we lock them?
