Canada: 1) No need to drape your wet, clean, clothes over any available surfaces if you want to dry them. Most people have room in their house or apartment to have BOTH a washing maching AND a dryer (oh the luxury!) which helps if you have a tidy house to keep it looking tidy.

2) Double sinks in a kitchen is standard for rinsing dishes, which means you save on water and don't have to worry about getting sick from soap residue.

3) Most places have a shower AND a bathtub. Furthermore, our taps are fit in such a way that you can control the temperature. You rarely have to choose between freezing your hands or scalding them with hot water.

4) I've never encountered a toilet where you had to pull a chain in Canada. Plus we are more polite. We use euphemisms if we have to go to the washroom. We don't just blurt out, "I have to go to the toilet!"

5) If you have a driveway to park your car, it doesn't mean your necessarily rich. Our petrol is cheaper.

6) You have privacy. If you have a garden, it means you either like flowers or enjoy planting your own vegetables. Which also means your yard can big enough to have both and still have room to roam.

7) Crisps are chips and chips are french fries. No need to worry about what to call crispy french fries. Food is readily available--if you want perogies, you don't have to go to Poland, if you like pasta, you're not limited to spagetti. We also have real coffee here, which we brew at home, not instant crystals you mix with boiling water.

8) Our bars stay open until 2 am. We don't go out until 11 pm. In England you're in bed by 11:30 and "one for the road" is not taken literally here. If you get caught carrying a bottle, you're in trouble, hence the reason why we don't have a national binge drinking problem.

9) Most of us are reasonably educated. If you want a decent job, you have to go on to college or university. The only thing a 16 year old can do at that age here is get a driver's permit.

But I will say one thing about England: The grass IS ALWAYS greener!

England: because its farther away from the USA.

Canada!!!!! The best place on earth. Room to breath, room to expand, room to grow, room to travel, room to excel, room to disappear into. If you want a slight part of English in all of this move to Victoria on Vancouver Island. It is the capital city of British Columbia and very English. But first, second, third and last choice. CANADA

Canada (east). They get snow in winter and sun in summer. England gets rain all the time. Plus Canadians are way nicer people generally.

I would have to choose Canada. My brother lived in England for the last 10 years so I travelled back and forth a lot. The prices in England were shocking. I really don't know how anyone can afford to live there. When he told me they had to pay a Television tax, I couldn't believe it.
The other problem was real estate. No down payment in England, so when someone sells their house, there is a 'chain'. Everyone plans their move for that day, and if one of the people in the 'chain' loses their deal, everyone does! His brother in law had sold his home and was packed and ready to move 3 times! It was cancelled each time because of the chain.

The only thing my brother is going to really miss is the people. He made many good friends over there, and he lived seaside, in the south of England, so he will miss the ocean as well. Other than that, now that he lives back home in Canada, he's back to the Canadian way, and making a good living, while living far less expensively.

I'm English and I would choose Canada.. been there twice and it's much nicer - clean, open spaces, less populated, less crime.. yep Canada all the way!

England! Because I live in Canada and it's boring and too young for me. Of course I live in the prairies.
These are the reasons
1. The people are amazing, fashionable, and a joy to be around and they thank us, hence we say your welcome.
2. The history there. They have so many resources to learn and be smart.
3. How close everything is in London and throughout the country.
4. The food and tea is wonderful.
5. The tube.
6. Double decker buses.
7. Christmas at St. Paul's.
8. Harry Potter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...

It may be expensive but it is a joy to go to and would be a thrill to live in.

ENGLAND .. Been to Canada, yea the fall is pretty, Niagara is great but u seen it once and it's enough.
There is real community spirit amongst the English, people are welcoming warm and friendly, its usual to pop in your neighbours for a quick cuppa, in Canada the Canadians are cold, no spirit, they are false, they say "your welcome" to everything, they ask how are u without even looking at you. Stiff false people and also the MOST worst drivers in the world, they can't even cope with big wide highways without having an accident, English drivers have to drive through torrential rain and tiny country lanes, yea England definitey.

Philbert
England, it has better beer and a cooler accent and history to go with it.

Canada is a big for nothing country with half Frogs and the other half an annoying accent.
