canada is no different than these united states, in the fact that a whole bunch of people from a multitude of countries around the world found, settled, and attempted to settle this part of the world. bottom line.... geographically, canada is in north america, a continent. like europe. asia. south america. africa. antarctica. and austrailia. |

Search for a "world map" on the internet.
You will see Europe is across the Atlantic Ocean from Canada.
However, Canada and the U.S. share a common border and both are in "North America". |

There is 3 countries in North American, Mexico, US, and CANADA! So just because Canada still has ties to the UK doesnt mean that it is also a part of Europe. |

Canada is most definitely a North American country. In fact, it probably makes up more than half of the contintent in land mass. It is connected to Europe in that the first settlers came from Europe and we still belong to the British Commonwealth. |

I think in colonial times when it was a Dominion many would have regarded it as a European country. Nowadays it's completely an integral part of North America.
EDIT: Why am I receiving thumbs downs? I'm speaking the truth of the matter at hand. |

As much as I would like Canada to be a European country, it is sadly not. It is part of the North American continent, and north of the USA. Europe is across the Atlantic Ocean from here. If you don't believe me, take a look at a globe or a world map. Canada forms the northern portion of North America. BTW, North American is made up of Canada, the USA and Mexica, although some geographers will say that Mexica is the northern limit of Latin America. |
