At one point in history it was, but it is not any longer.

Currently it is a Sovereign State, with the government structured as a constitutional monarchy in what is called a "personal union" with the other commonwealth realms. This means that there is a position called "Monarch of Canada" which just happens to be occupied by the same person who is also the Monarch of Great Britain (and South Africa, and Australia, and a bunch of other countries).

No. Canada is a country with provinces and territories of its own.

No Canada has been an independant country since 1867.

The final ties were cut formally in 1986 with the repatritation of a the constittution. As part of the British Commonwealth we still have Queen Elizabeth as the figure head of our government, which is why she is on the coins, but she has no real power at all in Canada. In that sense we are a republic.

kenoplayer
No, it is a part of the Commonwealth of Great Britain.

Happy
No Canada is not a provence of Great Britiain. Wikipedia would have been easier to find answers to your question

E.G. Emeritus
Great Britain is not a country per se; it is comprised of England, Scotland and Wales. With Northern Ireland they make up the United Kingdom, which is a country. The UK has no ties with Canada, except for the fact they share a nominal head of state in the person of Elizabeth Windsor and are both members of the British Commonwealth of Nations.
