Worst. In some parts of the country, you can't smoke in a car if children are in it. |

Smoking is stupid. |

I think you will find Canada more strict. Heavy fines here if caught smoking in a non smoking area. You can't smoke in restaurants, bars, shopping malls, cafes, buildings, all common areas of apartment buildings, in your car if there is a child in it. 90 feet away from any hospital doors. Banned in all work places. Most non smokers ban it in their homes or anywhere near their children and a lot of smokers ban smoking as well and go outside to smoke. A very few hotels will offer a smoking room but most are non smoking. You may even find that smoking outside walking down the street a stranger will approach you and have something unspeakable to say about you're smoking. It's really a problem to have a cigarette here now. |

anti-smoking as in tobacco? Yes it's much worse in Canada. They tax each pack by roughly 50%. Our cigs are about twice as much as your cigs are. There's also pictures of cancer, dead babies, ect. on all our packs to dissuade people from smoking, and most cities have passed anti-smoking bylaws in public places (even when they're outside).
For smoking weed, it's much more liberal. |

probably worse, depending on where you are. in toronto there are tons of laws like being X numbwe of meters from certain buildings etc... |

just look at illinois new smoking law if u work at amcore (just as an example)* the only time workers can smoke is on lunch break and nobody can smoke outside even their own cars in the parking lot |

I live in Ontario, and we have the Smoke Free Ontario Act, which prohibits anyone from smoking inside a public building or within 4 menters of an awning. Being a non smoker, I like it. Not only is smoking (and second hand smoke) unhealthy, I don't want to be at a restaurant and have someone subjecting me to their habit. Alot of Ontarians feel this way. I can't speak for the other provinces, though. |

Yes it's bad. As of Jan 1 in Alberta no more smoking in bars some cities have had this for years, but not where I lived. Now it's law. I can't wait to see what they come up with next.
And for your first answerer POT is illegal in every province Canada. Just because BC is known for their potheads does not make it legal. A possession charge is simply not as serious here as in the US and so people don't care if they are caught and smoke in public. |

Your just not aloud to smoke in a public building anymore. I dont really care because I dont smoke but your still aloud to smoke outside and in your own car and stuff like that. |

America, I believe is way more uptight. I mean, you can smoke pot I know for sure in Van Couver. Where can you do that in the states? |
