I love Canada. I'm from California, and I have had the good fortune to go to Canada five times. The first time, at age 12, I went on a trip with my family to Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Quebec and Ontario. I had taken 2 years of french at school already, and it was so much fun to try it in Quebec City and Montreal. The second and third trips were to British Columbia, mainly Vancouver Island, Victoria and Vancouver itself. Beautiful. The fourth trip was to Alberta with my husband and sons - Waterton, Calgary, Drumheller for the dinosaur museum, Banff, Lake Louise, the Columbia Icefields and Jasper. I think Alberta is one of my favorite places on earth! My last trip was when my husband and I drove back from Alaska. We saw the Yukon, Dawson City, Whitehorse, and then back through British Columbia. I love Canada. The provincial campgrounds are very nice, the cities are beautiful, and the people are splendid.
My advice when traveling: appreciate the country you are in and see it's beauty, be courteous to those you meet, and enjoy your experience. Who knows, you may find wonderful sights and meet hospitable people. |

Wherever told you it is really bad...tell them yes it was horrible. Encourage them never to return.
Since you loved it, you can come visit any time. |

firstly, ask yourself who told you it was a bad place, why would they say that, what experience did they have to back up their opinion, why did you give their opinion credence, if there is no firm answer then you shouldn't let your own opinions to be undermined for no valid reason.
It is a great place, I enjoyed my time there too |

It depends on which point of view you are asking from. I moved to Canada from the US because, among other more personal reasons, I wanted to make sure my children got good health care. Everyone gets good healthcare here, no matter the income. In the US you either have to be on welfare or really well-off and have good health insurance to have good healthcare. If you fall in the middle-class financial area, you can forget it.
Now, this healthcare does have to come from somewhere, so the taxes are higher than I paid in the US, but I think it's worth it.
Also there are some areas that are colder, humanity wise, and there are some areas that are fantastic, and people will put you up if there is an emergency. (such as, people in Nova Scotia housing US citizens who had their airlines diverted to there during the 9-11 attack) How many Americans would freely put strangers in their homes? |

If you have been here and loved it then that is your point of view. There are many like you and there are a few who have never been here in Canada and take the point of view that Canada is the worst country on the face of the earth. Whoever told you Canada was a bad place, ask them to explain themselves, but seeing that you were here, you loved it and I am sure you'll be back! |

you've probably only been talking to americans (which reminds me of Rick Mercer's show "Talking to Americans" - check it out!!) Americans just seem to be jealous because this is a better country to live in. |

I have never heard anyone say bad things about Canada - I came here from the UK 30 years ago and it has been a great place to live and raise my family.
Where I live in Southern Ontario is lovely, it is a beautiful part of a wonderful country - from Niagara Falls to Windsor, Ontario, is interesting and scenic.
Check out http://www.discover-southern-ontario.com... and explore Southern Ontario towns and cities such as London, Windsor, Stratford, St Marys, Aylmer - there are some really great places to live where housing is affordable.
In smaller towns and cities here, I find that people are neighbourly, shop-keepers are accommodating and in general people are very friendly and have time to chat with their neighbours.
The population density of the province of Ontario is 8.9 people per square mile - check that out with where you live and you will probably find that Canadians have lots of room to live. |

I don't know who you have been talking too. I love Canada. I have been there several times, and the only bad experience I had at all was when my wife and I were in Montreal and got verbally abused because we didn't know French - but that is Quebec for you. |

Well Canada is a beautiful clean country. The land above The Great lakes as in Lake Superior and other lakes are a fantastic natural rock garden.
When the RCMP were policing the country it was an honest righteous place. But since the Canadian CSIS took over as to policing the thoughts and lives of the people it has degraded into a psychotic, drug land I suppose in the big cities. The CSIS spend their time making up new ways to pretend Canada needs them like when the CSIS were the ones who bombed the Air India lockerbe jet in that disaster or when the CSIS got tired of thier secret camp in woodbridge and took thier own uniforms and pretended the camp was run by Islamic terrorists. (Partly true in that the CSIS are actually terrorists).
Canada was turning to God but then the CSIS helped the Jesuites to do a type of 'spanish inquisition' to protect the pope and papacy from the sex charges from the indian schools affair.
We need to be careful because the males in the CSIS were worshiping the devil after about 1995. |

I went to Canada and I can honestly say I have been a lot of places but I have never seen anything like it before in my life. I hated everything about it. I hated the people they were rude, arrogand drug addicts (most of them anyway.) It was BORING, it was so full of nothingness, it has a really high percentage of the population who suffer from depression.
i hate everything about Canada. Im sure there are some people who would enjoy, certain parts, but I hated it. I went to Vancouver, and Toronto, and then out into Orangeville, and Missisauga. The only good thing I can say about it, is the beaches are probably amongst the most beautiful I have seen, but apart from that, the country is (personally, for me) a waste of space, a wasteland for people who constantly smoke weed and take drugs. |
