Is Jane street safe in Toronto??

I am looking to get an apartment and noticed that most of them in Jane street are cheap. Why?

millonario
No, it's not safe. This is why the cheapest reates are found over there.
Jane Street is a big NO-NO. Stay away from that area, mostly Jane-Finch and Jane-Sheppard.

The Jane/Finch area is the most dangerous in Toronto -- constant gang shootings. Trust me, you don't want to live anywhere near there.

Molly
STAY AWAY FROM JANE AND FINCH!
Thats all i have to say...i lived nearby, and it was not a good experience!

AUCT!ON
Jane and finch pretty dangerous if you ask me. So many shootings, drug busts and turf wars.

Jane and Finch is one of the worst areas in Toronto. It is not a safe place to live.

They're cheap because it's a bad area and no one wants to live there. There's a lot of gang and drug activity in the area. I'd steer clear.

David H
I lived at Bathurst and Wilson and never had a problem in that area, if anything the area below Wilson or at it.

The area at Wilson is just the beginning of the northern west indian area, down at Bloor it is mostly Italian, south to Lakeshore is mostly Anglo-Saxon.

Around Bloor is the nicest area and your close to the subway, I have lived in that area to at Dupont and Landsdowne, just ry not to get near the rail ines they buzz through at all hours.

Lisa L
Stay away from Jane St. period. NO GOOD!!

Jane and Finch is called the hood(slang)

jokersmile
Don't live there!!!DANGER!It's the BRONX OF TORONTO!

Jane & Finch .. Jane & Wilson have a bad reputation. I don't think it's too bad there, there's a giant university 5 min away after all, and it's pretty safe.

That said, Jane & Bloor (about 15 km south) is an extremely nice area

cutie
no jane street is very dangerous i would stay far away from it.

COSMO
if you have a suit of armour it MIGHT be ok
