Unless something has happened in the last half hour, Ottawa is still the capital of Canada. Markham is a lovely little town, and a fun place to visit (Steven Leacock spent some time there, although his home was in Orillia) but it hasn't even attained city status, much less capital status.
Tell your friend s/he is wrong and for penance has to look up a map of Ontario and find where Markham is. |
