Montrealite

Is Montreal more like Paris or New York City?

As one who is very familiar with all 3 places, Montréal is about 5% like N.Y.C. and 25% like Paris and 70% uniquely Montréalais.

It ressembles more like Paris. Especially old Montréal. The rivers around it aren't as dirty as Paris though. New York is very dirty. Alot of pollution.
I live in Montréal.

A bit of both. You got the hectic pace like the traffic in NYC and the romantic scenes of Montreal like in Paris.

More like Paris.
It has the French culture intact. The old Port is a best example of Montreal's french heritage.
I can't say exactly like it's New York because of the fact that the downtown area Pales itself in comparison to the Big Apple.
Other than that, It's Multi-cultural and it's one of the cheapest citites to live in North America.

Montreal has a bit of both, French like Paris, great food and wonderful fashions like Paris and has a city feel of New York for sure. Busy and sometimes hectic. You can get just about everything here that New York has and more! Things are just on a smaller scale.

i think neither. both nyc and paris are amazing first class world cities, and montreal is just a bit smaller and not quite as amazing. in my opinion.

Definitely Paris. Montreal is nicknamed "The Paris of the West." There are parts of Montreal, especially in Old Montreal, that have a very European feel. And even though Montreal has skyscrapers (unlike Paris), there isn't enough skyscrapers to get that NYC feel. Plus, Montreal has a scaled down version of Notre Dame!

Montreal is a pretty unique kind of city. It doesn't really compare well to either.

it's an amazing city. it's like Paris. you would think you are in europe. u should vist old montreal.
it's also the best city for dining out.
i lived there for 10 years.
it's the best!

Crispin B
Neither .... Montreal is its own city and in its own way is on par or above those other two.

French and English ... Old and New.... Montreal just is...

It is more like New York City
I lived there for 4 years, but I did not like it

I have never been in Paris or New York, but I went to Montreal last December. And I definitely think that looks like New York,. The New York I see on TV, of course.
