Is Niagara Falls Canadian side safe to walk?

Any concerns for personal safety, traveling to this area with kids and no car, will be walking to all attractions, i.e. maid of the mist, journey behind the falls, etc. Is is safe to walk without being robbed etc?

Of course it's safe...

It's Canada, NOT the USA.

Guns are illegal here and we have very low crime.

I live in the city of Niagara Falls, ONT and I RARELY here about crimes here.

it is very safe. i would stay towards clifton hill, they have many activities that are perfect for bringing the family along. i put a couple links to clips of clifton hill, plus hotels aren't that far from the road so you can walk everywhere. i would also hit boston pizza for dinner, for affordable, has an arcade and bowling alley connected to the dining area.

Niagara is totally safe and secure amigo. Lots of attractions, lots to see and tons to do, just be sure to keep an eye on your kids as you would when you go anywhere else

Everyone walks everywhere it's great. We did it just last year.

Being robbed it something you can prevent by being aware and not putting things of value in backpacks behind you.

Always keep valuables in front of you.
Don't carry items on your shoulder that can be easily snatched.
Most importantly always have 2 hands free when there are children traveling with you. Those little guys move fast.

I hate wearing a fanny pack, but they do solve a few safety problems and help a lot when traveling with kids

it is actually soo safe. when i went we went with 7 adults, 1 baby, and 4 kids. no one got robbed or lost. maid of the mist might be dangerous a bit if they try to jump off the boat. and everyone wears blue coats so it is easy to get lost. and there are buses to transport you from place to place. but journey behind the falls is cold and you can see the falls like from 3 feet away from behind it (duh) and there is a gate seperating u from the falls and you but it is soo easy to jump over it. so in case bring a sweater and lots of water bottles! and sunglasses

Very safe physically. My kids have done all you've mentioned but it really wears them out.

Really hard on your wallet if you have kids! The tourist area is scientifically designed to separate you from your cash in a hurry.

Most places accept US and Canadian.

With small kids, if you take the boat trip up the rapids (not the Maid of the Mist), do the enclosed boat. We did the open boats and my daughter came close to going over the side when we got swamped, she was about 7 at the time. My boys loved that trip by the way at 7 and 9 years age.

It is very safe. The crime rate in Niagara Falls is extremely low for a city of its size. Also down in the major tourist area the Niagara Parks Police are everywhere, on horseback, bicycles and vehicles. Its been a few years since I last heard of a tourist being robbed, and he was robbed by another "tourist" daytripping from south of the border specifically for the reason of making some easy cash in another country where he was a minor. Have fun, enjoy your trip.
