Niagra Falls is bordered on one side by New York state. Not the coast at all, and certainly not the west coast.

Niagara Falls, as mentioned by a few people already, is NOT on either coast of Canada. It is located in Southern Ontario on the American Board.

And for those of you who don't know your geography, Niagara Falls IS farther EAST then Toronto.

Toronto is located at 43:40 north and 79:22 west while Niagara Falls is located at 43:07 north and 79:04 west (this puts it farther south and farther east then Toronto).

Just becase you leave Toronto driving west, does not in reality put Niagara Falls west of the city.

So, you're friend is definitely wrong.

Niagara Falls is closer to the East coast than the West coast of Canada.

You drive west leaving Toronto, but only because you loop around lake Ontario.

Niagara Falls is actually further East than Toronto.

Friends right the drive is an hour west from Toronto but that doesn't put it on the west coast. That drive would take 2 or 3 days from Toronto. And the east coast is a good 2 days drive away as well. It is on the Southern border of the country though.
