Is Quebec a separate country from Canada?

Will it ever be? Why does it say Je me souviens on the back of all Quebec license plates?

Je me souviens means "I remember",

Just about every Province & State has their own slogan, so it should be no surprise that Quebec has one in French. I don't think there is a political statement in saying "I remember the past".

(Until 1976 our plates read " La Belle Province" (The beautiful province). Occasionally you will see someone who has positioned a new plate over an old to read " I remember the beautiful province")

We have had three referendums on the issue of separatism and voted against it every time. The question in the second one (1995) was so convoluted that I know English people who voted "oui" and they still didn't win. I think it's unlikely that we will Separate.

there have been separatist movements for years, but the majority always votes no, quebec has a provincial language of french and have some more unique rules not found in other parts of canada, but as far as that, it looks just like the rest of canada in many places, has the same stores and people.

No, but it is a distinct "nation" in Canada as declared by the federal government.

No, Quebec is a province in Canada still.
Je me souviens means " I remember" in French. Each province has their own little saying on the license plates for cars. The Ontario one is 'Yours To Discover'

je me souviens is from the poem "Je me souviens" by Taché.

It goes

"Je me souviens
Que né sous le lys
Je croîs sous la rose"

'I remember
That born under the lily (symbol of Quebec)
I grow under the rose (symbol of Canada)'

Most don't know the whole deal behind that, so there you have it.

As for the separation question that has been asked at least a dozen times in the last week alone, the answer is no.
