Yes, Quebec is still part of Canada. I don't know what the post about it being the capital of Canada is about (since the capital is Ottawa, Ontario). Quebec last had a referendum in 1995 where more than 49% voted for separation, but since then laws have been passed to make another referendum more difficult. The Bloc Quebecois (separatist party) still controls most of the seats in Quebec.

Geographically....Though we may get neutered someday

Last time I checked, yes.

When I woke up this morning in my little Montreal home, no one on the radio mentioned a coup overnight so I am pretty sure I am still in Canada.

And Ottawa, Ontario is the "federal" capital of Canada. Quebec City is the "provincial" capital of Quebec. (That's kind of like Albany is the capital of New York state, but Washington, DC is the capital of USA for our American friends...)

Yes, but according to Harper it's "a nation within a nation"

heh.
Yes, it used to belong to the French once upon a time. Now it belongs to Canada, but the main language there is French.

My impression of Quebec growing up was that the average citizen there did what everyone else in Canada did - woke up in the morning, went to work or school, worried about how to feed the kids, how to pay the bills, etc. It was only the politicians that had the spare time to fart around all day thinking up new schemes on how to leave behind a legacy. One grand idea was to be the guy who split up the country. Maybe I've been wrong all these years - correct me if I'm wrong. At any rate, I say thank goodness we are still all one country!

beaglersonthego
YES.

care
yes its a province which is like a state and canada has provences instead of states and so its a region but still a part of canada

Smarties
YES! ...If its not part of of canada, how come its the capital of canada?

This is a no-brainer question....BTW
