Like Gary said check with your insurance agent as to what exactly your insurance will cover while out of country, you should be covered but I would highly recommend getting extra insurance. Peace of mind goes a long way when you have the extra coverage. A lot of times if you were to be in an accident, your coverage will not be sufficient to cover all the extra expenses, such rental car, hotel stay, return trip home etc.
Raise your liability up as high as you can with out hurting your wallet. Also is nice to have theft, vandalism, etc just in case your regular insurance does not cover it while out of state or the US.
Another good idea is travel medical insurance for yourself. We always get it before we leave home even if it is just a short trip. |

You better check with your insurance agent.....Maybe not in another country. |

Generally not a problem, people from Washington and other northern border states drive in Canada all the time (and some are involved in accidents while here), and don't have a problem. BC law requires that you carry a minimum amount of 3rd party liability coverage, but it sounds like you have that already. |

Now for the reality check........
ASK your insurance agent to provide you with a "Inter Provincial Proof of Insurance Card " that proves that you DO have the minimum level of liability coverage that is required in ALL Canadian Provinces.
It is free , but you MUST have it with you, in the vehicle, while driving in Canada.

US car insurance is generally good in Canada. But not Mexico. Canada is not considered any greater risk for the insurance company than in the USA. But check your policy anyway. |

Your insurance totally covers you while in Canada. Just be aware that all car insurance in BC is underwritten by ICBC which is a BC government company and if you are involved in an accident your insurance company will be dealing with them. It's not a problem so don't be concerned. Just make sure you have proof of insurance with your vehicle and there will be no problems |
