NO! absolutely NOT...
Vancouver is notorious for having looong periods of rain, and perpetually gloomy grey skies for months on end. Typicaly it is one of the biggest complaints about Vancouver.
This is not the place to live for someone suffering Seasonal Affective Disorder. |

i wouldn't recommend it with all the rain no...it can get pretty depressing
the okanagan might be a better bet
good luck! |

Since the prevailing weather patterns during the winter and early spring months bring moisture laden air in off of the Pacific Ocean, the weather tends to be rainy and grey most of the time. Thus a S.A.D. sufferer is apt to be extremely unhappy during that time of year.
The summers, however, are a pure delight. |

Well if it's the cold temperatures that affects you the most--then Vancouver would be a good place to live. In the prairie provinces, particularly Saskatchewan & Manitoba (with extreme continental climates) the temperatures are sometimes colder then the summit of Mount Everest or a place in Antarctica. Ontario and Quebec are also cold but not as cold, but can be warm one day and extremely cold the next... The Atlantic provinces are susceptible to hurricanes during the summer and generally fall below -10 degrees Celsius in the winter months. Although Vancouver rains a lot, the temperature gradually rises/falls so the temperature differences may not be felt so greatly due to our coastal location and moderation from ocean currents. In the winter, it rarely drops below freezing and in the summer it is not too hot and very dry. During summer in the prairie provinces and the interior of British Columbia, you are susceptible to long heat waves with tempearture exceeding 40 degrees Celsius! That would never happen in Vancouver. |

For nine months of the year, yes. But for November, December and January, you'll need one of those special lights that you sit in front of for 15 minutes per day. Either that or move to Saskatchewan, where there's enough sun year round that you won't have problems -- other than living in Saskatchewan.
Just kidding. Sask. is a great place to live. |

Depends where you are moving from...I am born and raised here and would want to live no where else...the people here are generally friendly and pretty laid back...great cultural diversity with a range of all sorts of restaurants from differing cultures....we have a lotta parks and places to go to lounge around... |
