Is Windsor, Ontario, Canada a safe place to live?

I have been thinking about moving to Windsor, Ontario, Canada from the Detroit, Michigan area.

It's across from Detroit as you know. So that should tell you something.

The reason why Detroit has such a high crime rate compared to Windsor is because of the black population.

Whether or not you believe this is the reason, it is. I suggest you research crime studies done between Windsor and Detroit and further educate yourself.

In Detroit (82% black) in 1999 there were 2,121 arsons. In Windsor (2% black) there were about 120. Hmmmm, that's odd. Well, what about automobile theft? They may not have guns up there but they have cars, so we can compare those numbers. In Detroit (82% black) in 1999 there were 25, 892 car thefts, while in Windsor (2% black) there were 53.

yes. much different than Detroit. low crime rate. it's another world compared to Detroit. I'll not even stop at roadside parks/ washrooms in the Detroit area due to concerns over safety. Windsor is not like that at all.try it; you'll like it.

yep, much safer than Detroit,
and the winters aren't too bad either!

Yes it is pretty safe, I go to University at the University of Windsor and have been living here for the last 3 years and it is a safe place, much safer than Toronto. There are some sketchy areas in Windsor but none of them compare to Detroit. The best places to live in Windsor would be downtown, near the university, or the very best if you have a little bit more money is in Tecumseh (10 mins from Windsor, it is a beautiful city).
Hope this Helps,
Matt
