English is the main language spoken there. You may hear some French but not that much. You will hear French mostly in Quebec and Montreal.

Yes, not as much as English obviously, but it is spoken. In some neighborhoods more then others. There are many french schools, french book stores, etc. French is a part of Ottawa, although it's not officially a bilingual city yet, it's on its way. I am french, living in Ottawa, and honestly i use my english a lot more then my french when im at stores or restaurants, only in Orleans, Sandy Hill and a few other places will i speak in french.

It depends on where you are in Ottawa

There are parts of Ottawa that are more prone to speaking French, such as Orleans. Ottawa is supposed to be a bilingual city, but I do not find that this is true in many parts. There is almost always some nice bilingual person nearby if help is needed. Also, all signs (traffic, warnings for fine, etc)are in both English and French.

Yes, French is spoken in Ottawa - but then, so is English, Arabic and Farsi. French is spoken quite often in Ottawa's eastern suburb of Orleans.

Almost all Francophones know and speak English, while very few Anglophones know, let alone speak, French. But yes, it's out there.
