Depends on which province you are in. I just traveled from Nova Scotia to Northern Ontario and Halifax was $1.16 per litre and Montreal was $1.08 and Ontario is $1.09. A gallon is 3.76 litres and you also have to take into account the exchange rate. Like I said it depends on the province and where in the U.S. you are comparing to!! |

Since there are 4 gallons per liter.

Gas is more expensive in Canada. Gas prices are around $1.10/litre or more in some places. It takes almost 4 litres to make 1 gallon, so Canadians are paying $4 and up for just 1 gallon!! |

Remember that a Canadian gallon of 4.45 litre is bigger than the US gallon or 3.78 litre |

Gas is much more expensive. An easy way to calculate to give you a rough idea is whatever our price is in litres multiply that by 4 and you get the price per gallon.
So for example $1.19 per litre is about $4.76 a gallon Canadian which is about $3.35 US$. |

A gallon is 3.78 liters so the average Canadian price today is a little more than $US 1.00 more expensive. However, that is less than the difference in the prices for milk (Canada has market controls on most dairy foods)! |
