Is is better to live in Canada or USA? Pros/Cons?

I hear the health programs in Canada are better? What about poverty, jobs, laws?

Not that there is anything wrong with the USA but I would probably say Canada is a much better and more fulfilling choice. Some pros with Canada are: Multicultural-so you can not only preserve your culture but also learn about others, Free Healthcare-which is good too, Lots of job opportunities, Places to go and shop, Education here is great-free until university(not including private schools), but overall the people are friendly and extremely accepting. We don't discriminate as much as the US does, not that everyone there is like that. I live in Canada, and have all my life and I guarentee if you lived here, you would love it. The laws are fair, its all about freedom and diversity, and poverty isnt too bad. Places like Toronto do have homeless people, but it's nothing compared to some of the places in the USA. Either way you get best of both worlds because you can always drive accross the border. The only con with Canada is high taxes-14%, but even then its worth it. USA is much more polluted and crowded, and quite dangerous. Their healthcare isnt the greatest either.

If you want to make money then the USA is better. The salaries are higher, the work load is usually less. Taxes are less in the US depending on what state you are in it can be 0-9%. As a foreign person you have better education so the marketplace is better for you as you actually have been properly schooled. Employers know this too so it can be beneficial to be from another country depending on your line of work. The crime is high, and the people are ignorant to all other places. Very USA Centric society.

Canada is better to rasie a family in. Health care is free for the whole family. Yes wait times can be high but not in all palces. Just major cities and metors. I live in Atlantic Canada and wait times are never more then 1-2hours. We have less crime and our laws are not as bad as the USA. things do cost more but I find Canada tries to make everybody a "Middle Class Citizen" so we are all able to take care of our needs. Not to say there are not rich or poor people but overall it is more well balanced. We are welcoming to foriegn immigration unlike the US who blocks off their boarders with walls.

Canada is a great place to live but the climate sucks.
Southern states if you like it warm. Canada if you are OK with winter.
Canada is where I would want to be if I was raising a family.

Julia B
I would say Canada.

In Canada there's less crime, Free health care system. In the states it's a melting pot, in Canada it's multicultural. Minimum wage varies from province to province in ontario it's $7.75.

The health program in theory is better. I have heard that they don't get to choose their health care providers, and the wait for an appointment can be very long. However, at least they can get healthcare, even if they can't afford to pay for it! Better than the US!!

I think living right next to the U.S. is best. I live about 5 miles from the U.S. (In Canada), and can go into the U.S. whenever I want. Everything here is pretty much American, but we get the benefits of Canada (like health care)...

Canada whole lots more expensive, US cheaper. Canada free health care but not as good as US and you have to wait a long time to see a doctor or get in a hospital, they put you on a waiting list sometimes for months. US more crime, Canada less.

MRFr
well i think where ever you grew up cause youd have to learn standard if you grew up in canada and moved to us and youd have to learn metric if you grew up in america and moved to canada and let me tell you learning a new measurement system if soooo confusing

i don't know about Canada but i love living here in the US.
