The terms cold and hot are all relative terms.. So to say whether or not it is cold in Canada, which is one of the largest countries in the world, greatly depends upon when (season) and where in Canada you are talking about also what you are used to..
Canadians have been called 'Crazy Canucks' since we go to warmer climates in our winter and go freely around dressed in minimal clothing while the residents are dressed in parkas and the residents are complaining about the cold. Meanwhile we are out sunbathng..
Temperatures range from -40C to +35C depending upon the location and time of year.. Our summers can be quite warm and due to our northern location our winters can be cold, brutally cold at times.
Usualy people tend to adapt to their surroundings and what was considered cold to you one year might not be that bad ..
It is the change in temperature that makes one decide whether or not it is cold or hot.. Having left Vancouver BC on a flight (ambient temp 20C) and arriving in Ottawa ON (temp -30C) the extreme temperature change made it feel quite cold.. After a while if it reached -30C it actully felt quite balmy (temp stayed at -40C for 2 weeks) |

Canada is a very large country so the temperatures differ from one city to the other.Obviously people think of Canada as cold with igloos ad eskimos every where lol but thats in the very north of canada.
For instance Vancouver (where i lived) is like England ,it rains a lot but the winter's are fine because it is protected and the summer's are warm.So some parts of Canada are warm (not tropical but nomal) and some are very cold! |
|

Hello.
 |
Yes, it is in the winter. Than its just normal summer , hot weather.
But also global warming is warming the winter .
Oh and hahaha you know what i laugh at!!!!
When i went to california it was like 24 degrees. HOT! ( decmeber)
and hahahahahha people were wearing jackets, mits, hats, winter boots etc. it was sooo fuinny!! I thought it was really nice out. haha apperently not.
People always just assume that its cold here, but its not. Its just differnt enviroment. canada isnt a tropical island people!! Its a normal country with normal weather. and even in the north it gets hot in the summer.
Ps. i live in alberta and just a few days ago it was like 10+ , and its winter. THATS AWEOMSE.
i CANT WAIT UNTIL ACOUPLE OF DAYS . +1 WHOOO HOOO!!!! |

Yes it is cold here, eh. Once, it did get warm like +3 Celsius and my igloo melted, eh. Man my pet polar bear was really unhappy about that, eh. And the whole country was practiacally shut down, for days, as nobody could get to work on their dog driven sleds. Tim Hortons was dead as nobody wanted coffee, it was so warm, eh. The king of Canada, God Save the Hoser, was talking about buying some really big freezers to get it frozen again, but the warmth did not last long enough.
No, it's not always cold here. It's similar to the north US, sometimes it's worse in the north US. |
