ever since9-11 Canadians/American border needs passport, like i dont think this is really needed. they have heavy security at airports and ports of call, so why at bordes?and so what if a passport is needed, wont stop terrorism, its not the pasport that builds or detinates bombs, and it is not people getting into Canada or the States from our border , it is idiots coming from over the big water. So why do they punish us with all these mere details, i think this is going to slow down border crossings. |

no, its not...ive done it before. all you need is some form of picture ID and if you have kids, some sort of proof that they are yours (a birth certificate?) its beautiful there by the way! |

it depends, sometimes if you live in the states and your just going to visit for the day they may not require a pasport. they just ask where your going, how long you will be there, and just pass you threw. |

I believe it's just an ID now for traveling to Canada & Mexico, not a passport. But I heard that's supposed to change soon & you will have to have a passport too. |

You can have one, but if you're a US citizen, all you need is ID or your birth certificate and you're good. But I think that's only if you're daytripping. You might need a passport if you stay longer. I know if you're in the US trying to go to Mexico, all you need is your ID. |

Not yet - It's a good idea, but until the new law goes into effect, you are only required to present your ID & Birth Certificate. Heck, if you've got to hand over all of that, why not just get your passport?!? LOL
