I find we don't put much salt on or in home made food, but the processes stuff still has some. Healt Canada and the Heart and Stroke Foundation has regultion and bans and says what is good for use, and most people and companies follow what they say.

Mug R
We eat alot of salt. They constantly are telling us to cut back. We are not a spice culture.

The typical Canadian diet is very much like any diet in the US and western Europe. Out of idle curiosity, where did you hear that we don't eat too much salt?

Some do, some don't. It really is an individual thing. You have to work at reducing your salt intake, because there is salt in almost all processed foods.

Coral91
I'm pretty sure our average salt intake is about the same in the States, maybe with minor variations. Although I have heard that in western Europe they do tend to consume more salt. But then again, where do people get this from??

Well, considering the guy I saw yesterday at Wendy's who poured like, freakin' six packs onto his fries, I'm guessing not lol =D.

MasterPython
I don't think so. Apparently our processed food is made saltier than the American stuff.
