Canadians are not forgoing sleep worrying if we matter to our friends in US. The true is that Canada has little to no influence, given our size and our values (i.e. not an Islamic state).
Canadians enjoy cleaner air, safer cities, and all the US TV programs we care to watch. The best of both worlds?! |

That 70's Show was lame at its best moments, so I would not take anything said during an episode at face value. For those who think we do not matter, I wonder how they would feel if we stopped giving foreign aid, lending money to large western countries who shouldn't need it, backing others in frivolous wars, supplying others with our natural resources....the list is endless on how Canadians enrich the world. Even in jest, that's a statement which I find disgusting and disheartening, as it is said all to often by those ignorant of what Canadians do for the advancement of humans throughout the world. |

It has been my personal experience that those who are ignorant find that Canadians don't matter, whereas, the well educated people had the utmost respect for Canadians. |

The comment on the 70s show was just a joke. That's why the laugh track played right after the comment.
You can believe that Canadians don't matter, but the world would be a much different place if it were not for the many inventions and discoveries made by Canadians.
The nice thing about Canadians is that we really don't care if you think we don't matter. We will continue to go on living our very happy, full lives. |
