Toronto is not dangerous at all. We go there as often as we can. We take our two-year-old with us and she loves it. If it was at all dangerous we would not subject her to it, but as it is not, we go. We do stay away from the JaneFinch area though. And I don't know where you heard that lots of kids get kidnapped from there - it's a bunch of malarkey. Look at that little girl that was just abducted (and found safely) in BC. That was just a LITTLE town that she was taken from. So it can happen anywhere, not just big cities. Don't stereo-type... not all big cities are bad.

I have no idea what those others are talking about.
Toronto is becoming a dangerous place to live / stay.
It does have it nice places of course.
But shootings are almost an daily occurence, huge bust(s) & takedowns are now commonplace in the news
( just like yesterdays)
Gun crimes are up...
Robbery is up

no, Toronto is not a dangerous city.
yes, it is true that kidnap news have been reported in the media, but this is exaggerated or only little portion of of the population.
no matter where you go you still have to take care of your valuable stuff, especially in the poor neighborhood of the city. everywhere in the world is the same.
well, to me. I think Scarborough of Toronto is a poor area.
just be more careful.

I lived in Toronto for two years, and from what I remember it wasn't that good. It's a big city, so obviously the crime rate will be higher. Plus it's right above New York.

Any major city, anywhere in the world can be dangerous. Isnt this obvious? What you decribed can happen anywhere.

No, that is not true. Look at this web site: http://www.toronto.ca/quality_of_life/safety.htm

Toronto is probably one of the safest large cities in the world. It has the usual stuff that comes along with being in a big city but to call it dangerous would be a bit far-fetched.
