Is living at downtown Toronto safe for single girl?

Are the areas of Front Street West, Spadina Ave, Richmond St. W, Bloor and Blue Jays Way in DownTown Toronto safe for a single girl?

i lived in downtown toronto alone for a few years while going to university. i must admit i was scary having to walk through parks at night alone and im sure it was dangerous. In the day you should be fine though, just always be alert....lol my dad made me walk around with an icepick while i lived alone and if there was ever a problem i could just take it out lol. So if you would be travelling during the night ALONE just always remember to be alert, try to be with somebody else, have a cell phone with you....and maybe an icepick 2 lol. Many many girls live alone downtown and they are fine but im just warning you, there can be some creepy people.

hope i helped

You've got a big area there to deal with but it's pretty well lit so you shouldn't have much of a problem. And while Toronto is reasonably safe provided you don't take chances, just use your common sense when walking alone at night. This of course means no dark alleys, parks or places where people can't see you.

I always heard canada is safer than america

Toronto was found to be the 26th most dangerous city in Canada, meaning its pretty safe here...

I'm from T.O. How safe it is depends on your judgement. Danger is everywhere and can find you if your not careful.
the area you listed isn't a bad one at all, Your not in heart of hooker land or crack head land. some areas are drastic due to the drugs gangs etc. If you are from the city you shouldn't have any problems. If your from a smaller city you'll need to be city educated. no joke. you can email me

Those areas are generally safe, although being down on Richmond or Adelaide on a Saturday night is never a good call. Most likely you'll have to duck gunfire, and thats no lie, so you gotta be careful (It's the club district; alcohol and firearms dont mix). But other than that, the city is safe. There are far more dangerous cities in Canada (Regina, Edmonton, Winnipeg) than Toronto, trust me.

Not as safe as anywhere else, but safer than, say, Regent Park or Jane/Finch. My advice would be to go to the suburbs and GO train it in to work. Toronto's not exactly a safe place to live in with a few random shootings on a weekly basis.

Now that I think about it, if you're talking about getting sexually assaulted, it's just as unsafe as anywhere else you go. My advice would be to take some self-defense courses.

Yonge and Eglinton is the best area I think its a bit expensive but you can even walk past midnight there. But practice common sense too.

My daughter lives in West Bloor Village and she walks at night and feels quite safe. Use common sense and you should have no problems. Overall Toronto is a very safe city, but like cities anywhere there are areas that are less safe than others. Parts of Jane Street are said to be unsafe. Best of luck.

ask the govt agency of that area

for a single girl i don't think so.But for someone else or someone with the girl i think it safe.

bugged to death
You have picked quite a safe neighbourhood. As mentioned above, you are close to the Club district, so be careful on weekends to stay away from the John and Peter Street areas just north of King Street. But other than that, it is a busy condo area with lots of people living there. Quite safe I would say.

Anywhere could be dangerous for a girl. Try not to be alone when out in the streets in the night. Contact friends or family members to accompany you home. Careful of anyone whom seems to be following you.

Cheers!

Oh please, Toronto is one of the safest cities in the world, not to mention in Canada, I've been walking at night, everywhere and nothing happens to you.

It is extremely safe, don't even worry about it
