RODEO AND HOCKEY ARE AMAZING!

Is provincial/state borders as important as country borders?

i mean do they really mean much as they do crossing into another country?

There's a few things that you should know, but it's not as though there's anyone there to question you as you cross borders. Often times, there's not even a cop in sight when you drive through one.

Here's some quick tips:
The drinking age alternates between 18 and 19 ex:
B.C. 19
Alberta: 18
Saskatchewan: 19
Manitoba: 18
on so on.

Alcohol is cheaper in Alberta so if you're trying to go to a province who has higher taxes on it (let's say Saskatchewan, for example), you MIGHT and it's a very slim MIGHT be pulled over and have your vehicle checked. I know of only one person who this has happened to, it's very rare.

Cop radars are illegal in Manitoba (the things that beep when you're scanned to see if you're speeding). You can't have them there.

State boarders have some meaning. There are lots of laws in the states about people and things crossing state lines.

Provincial boarders in Canada not so much.

No... You don't need state-to-state passports like you do country-to-country... You should however accustom yourself to local laws (such as driving/seatbelt laws.)

Totally don't matter, but yeah check your time zone. And legal age is different. BC is 19, AB is 18...

No, not at all. Some things change when you move from province to province - speed limits, drinking age, rate of taxation, level of some services, but they are not huge changes.

There are some restrictions in province to province crossings, and state to state crossings. You don't need passports, but if you are carrying, for example, fresh fruits into California, they will be taken away. That's a totally silly situation we encountered one time going from Arizona to California with a bag of apples we had purchased in Arizona - apples that were grown in California - but we were not allowed to take them across the California border. Go figure!

very have no physically border between province and province, all free to go to any province at your wish.
