As a born and raised in Canada, as well as a proud Canadian, I personally can say, "It may not be the best, but however is one of the most beautiful, safest places on earth to live; as well as many more lovely wonderful places on this earth." Life is what you make it, and in the eye's of the beholder.

It's the best place for me, but I grew up here. Honestly I find other countries to be ridiculous, we are just so laid back and liberal. The USA is a good example, I don't even feel comfortable on US soil myself. Such infighting, religion marriage, all sorts of arguing and hatred. Not that way in Canada. We are far too friendly and accepting here.

According to numerous polls conducted around the world, Canada often makes the top ten in list of best countries to live or work.

Really, that's a personal question.

However, in my opinion, I would agree that it is one of best places, especially British Columbia; people are great, weather's amazing, government knows what they're doing... everything that you'd expect an awesome country to have, well, Canada's got it.

The stereotype of Canadians is way to far-fetched. Maple syrup, beavers, hockey and "Eh?" are part of the culture, but not to the extent that most believe. Some of best people!

New Zealand, Scandinavia, Scotland, and Australia (not the desert-area, though) are all pretty impressive, too.

I think it's a pretty sweet place to live, though it *is* a HUGE country so it really depends where you live. I don't imagine that a tiny town of 100 people up on the tundra is as pleasant as some other places, but I guess it's all opinion.

Just for the record: where I'm from has beaches, lakes, it rarely drops below freezing, almost no slow, and the flowers have been in bloom for a month. Not all of Canada is a frozen hell!

I don't know about the best, but it is a GOOD place to live. Overall, it's safe, has low pollution, beautiful landscape, it's affordable (in most cities), has good socialized healthcare, a decent economy, great natural resources, political and religious freedom/democracy, progressive leaders and people, and world class education. This is just a start.

Personally, I think Scandinavia (Denmark or Finland) and France would be the BEST places to live, but I am happy (and lucky) to be Canadian and live in Canada in the meantime.

If anyone wants to complain about Canada, I suggest they live in Africa for a week with no running water, no food, no medical care, rampant illness, and rebels running wild with guns outside your home (corrupt government and no policing). Then we can talk...

Canada is always near the top of the list for best countries to live in. And for good reason.

but canada's great too...

For some it is, for many its not. I think Australia is better. If you like cold places you may lik Canada. Its a personal choice.

heer
NO IT IS NOT TRUE. MANY OTHER BEST PLACES IN THE WORLD. NOT ONLY CANADA. AUSTRALIA, GOA , MANALI, HONGKONG ETC. ARE ALSO BEST PLACES.

A typical insecure question coming from another insecure canadian.

poor you.

have you been overseas yet?

canada, compared to other countries is going down the drain honey.

canada is a sugar coated frozen tundra to which the people have to always compare themselves to their southern neighbour. to reassure their boring, frozen lifestyle.
