I live in Montreal, Quebec (and I speak French first), but i've been many times in the Maritimes and I love to go in PEI and Nova Scotia. If I could, I would certainly live there. It is certainly a great place.

I live on the other coast, but if for some reason I couldn't live in BC, I would choose Nova Scotia. I think it's beautiful and the people are very friendly

ATLANTIC Canada (which includes Newfoundland, my home) is the BEST PLACE IN THE FREAKING WORLD!
Best people! Beautiful scenery! Wonderful sea smells! Great farmers markets (fresh food)! Great schools and Universities!
It breaks my heart that I have to live in Calgary.... :(

Excellent place if you don't like to work. Maritimes has 2 seasons- Pogey (8 months of the year collecting employment insurance and welfare) and work (4 months of the year that the goverment requires them to work so that they can collect pogey for the rest!
It's an excellent system- They continually elect liberal governments who buy their votes (with pogey and corporate welfare) and they then earn the right to sit on their duffs for most of the year- while BC, Alberta and Saskatchewan cry for workers to help their booming economies.
It's less expensive to live (cuz theres no work!) and their are no social stigmas to sittin' around on yer butt all day- cuz everybody else is doin' it too!
For sure if you don't like work- stay away from the West and move out to the Eas-y coast!

Nova Scotia is great.

Atlantic Canada (yes, I'm including Newfoundland - Labrador) is the closest thing to heaven we've got. The friendliest people, lower living costs, wonderful seafood and the most beautiful scenery in Canada. Come and have a cup of tea!

Beautiful, especially in Summer. But very depressed economically, for the major part.
