Is there a curfew for minors in montreal? |
I have a cousin that is visiting Montreal next month, but she's only 15. When I lived in the U.S. a lot of the major cities imposed curfews on its minors. I'm wondering if Montreal has this practice also? And if so, what time is curfew? |

Nope, no fascist government here ;) Legal age is 18, which covers drinking/purchase of cigarettes (the usual stuff). That's all! |

No, there is no curfew in Montreal, nor anywhere else in Canada that I know of. |

The curfew is set by the parents.
bars close at 3:00 am
I don't know why I'm telling you this since your cousin is only 15, but you never know. |

Only the small town of Huntingdon in the Eastern Townships, 60 miles from Montreal, because of a somewhat uptight mayor.
There's no curfew for minors in Montreal. |

There MAY be a curfew law on the books but it isn't inforced unless they have nothing else to charge a minor with. Your friend doens't have anything to worry about except for Montreal traffic. |

No, but as a parent I won't let my teenagers do whatever they want! |

Not that I know of.
There was certainly no curfew within the Province of Quebec (or anywhere else in Canada for that matter!) when I was growing up.
Now that I am a responsible adult, it wouldn't affect me anyway but, like I said, a curfew for minors in Montreal sounds very doubtful.
The legal drinking age throughout Canada is 18 anyways so your cousin won't be able to do anything naughty or wild here for another three years!
Is she coming from the U.S.?
Well, if she is, she won't have any complaints about our Laws considering it's even worse there; the legal age in the U.S. is 21, remember? |
