Yes, Vancouver is located on the coast of B.C. on the mainland. Vancouver Island is located approximently 45 miles from Vancouver. You can take a ferry from the mainland to Sydney,B.C. ( located about 1/2 hour drive from Victoria) and arrive there in 1 1/2 hours. Victoria, the capital city of B.C. is located on the southern tip of Vancouver island. Both places are very beautiful, very clean and a great place to visit. Vancouver is the largest city on the west coast. Victoria is the largest city on Vancouver Island.

Yes, one's a city on the Pacific and one's an island in the Pacific. I believe the island starts across the bay from the city and heads north about 100 miles. The capital of British Columbia province is Victoria, on Vancouver Island.
So is Nanaimo, home to the great Canadian treat, Nanaimo bars.

yes there is a difference. one is horrible and the other is even worse. I know it sound impossible but its true. they have these huge rats that eat all the food...
but in canada a rat is considered a delicacy so do not kill them as you will be sent to prison

Yes there is. It's about an hour and a half ferry ride from Vancouver (a major metropolis on the mainland of B.C.) to Vancouver Island (a large island off the coast of B.C.)
It's something that often confuses visitors, especially during peak travel times, who think that when they book a flight to Vancouver, they are going to be on Vancouver Island, and sometimes it's hard to get a last minute flight from the mainland to the island during the summer season.
Why not come up and have a look? They're both great places to visit

Big difference - Vancouver is a huge city in BC. Vancouver Island is an island off the coast of of BC with numerous towns on the island. Don't let the Canadians know that you asked this question! ;) Oh, and there's also a Vancouver Washington, smaller city, across the river from Portland, OR.
