I don't know about the rest of Canada, but I live in Edmonton, and I know it is a fairy big problem... I don't remember the exact statistics, sorry, but I remember it being in the news a few months ago.
I also remember seeing that the police (in BC, I think it was) set up some of those sting cars with cameras in them to help catch car thieves. |

Did you ever watch Bowling for Columbine? In it, Michael Moore goes to canada and finds that the people there are much less afraid of intruders/theft. In fact, many of them leave their doors unlocked. He did this to prove a point that not only are American's more concerned about intruders, they are also more likely to have fire arms in their homes. Anyway, to answer your question, I don't know for sure but I would be willing to be that Canadians don't have nearly the same numbers of car thefts than in America. |
