Yes lots of walmarts in every mid-sized city and large cities will have a few. http://www.walmart.ca for loacations. They have the new megastores here now too which sell all grocery items as a supermarket and all usual stuff too. They have buried about 50% of the Canadian chains since moving up here in the 90s.

Kmart in canada went belly up a few years ago////largely because of wlamart. I think there may be still a couple in toronto? Target not yet up here.

Check out some "Canadian" chains too which unfortunately also owned by multinational conglomerates

Not only do we have a Walmart but we even have paved parking lots.

Seriously, why would you travel all the way from the Bahamas to go to a Walmart anyway? We have much nicer things to see here than a grotty mega sweatshop.

Walmarts are available within 20km (12 miles) of just about every town in Canada.

K-Mart used to be very popular here, but I think they faced too much competition from other stores. There are very few left in Canada, and none left as far as I know in Quebec.

Target as a store does not exist in Canada, but we have Zellers instead. They sell the exact same stuff, the exact same store color schemes and weekly sales circulars.

I live in New Brunswick, and the city I live in we don't have any kmarts or targets. We do have walmarts though. We have a store called zellers that I guess could be comparable to target.

There's Walmarts everywhere, even in Australia.
Between McDonalds and Walmarts those have too be the two most popular stores in the world.
No targets, at least not yet.
K-mart I don't see to many of, I've seen probably 3 throughout my whole life and I'm in the biggest province, Ontario, so not to many of those.

There used to be. Global warming melted them.

I saw a thing on how workers at a Wal-Mart in Canada tried to form a union and the store closed down so they couldn't unionize.

So there was a Wal-Mart at some point...there were probably others who didn't try to form unions.

Why would you make discount stores a priority on vacation? Are you going to Canada to see their big-box stores?

Find some kind of local stores and shop there. You'll be helping the local economy a lot more and you'll get a better flavor of the place.

You can go to big box stores all around the world and they're all the same. Skip them on vacation.
