In French, the name of the falls and the city stays the same as it is in English.

If you were looking for a literal translation, a French-English dictionary would provide a number of correct variations.

CrAzY-B|TcH
The city's name in French stays NIAGARA FALLS, but the falls (attraction) themselves could be refered to as "Les Chutes Niagara"

You could call it 'Les Cascades de Niagara' and that would be technically correct, but names are not usually translated from one language to another so it is not incorrect to simply refer to them as Niagara Falls. For example, Washington is just Washington whether you're speaking French, Russian or Chinese. Vancouver is still Vancouver. Montreal is Montreal in french or english (although in english we don't use the accent over the 'a') so basically all that changes is the pronunciation. For Niagara Falls, it would be Nee-agra Falls if you wanted to use the English name, or les cascades (cass-cads) de niagara.
Bonne chance!
Avez-vous vu les cascades? Ceux sont magnifique!

There are two names for waterfalls that I have heard used in Quebec french. If you refer to a waterfall, it is usually known as "une chute". It is also sometimes referred to as a "cascade", although here it often refers to a water park or water slides.

I believe that the proper french name for Niagara Falls is actually "Les chutes du Niagara". However, your teacher for the oral exam may accept "Les cascades du Niagara".

Pronunciation:

Chutes = The "ch" makes the "sshhh" sound, the "u" is almost like the "oo" in noon, and the "es" is silent after the "t".

Cascades = Cass-cad (silent -es)

Niagara Falls (French: les Chutes du Niagara)

LAJOIE2007
"Les chutes de Niagara" - That is the official translation.

Helper
Les chutes de Niagara. I agree with the other poster.
