Yes it is if you like the big city. The best restaurants all depend on what you like to eat, dont go to any chain restaurants like the old spaghetti factory. You can post a question here http://www.chowhound.com/boards/23 to find the best restaurants for the type of food you like. The shopping malls in TO are nothing special, its worth going to the eaton centre to see it but most of the stores are big box and you can find at almost any mall. I recommend going shopping on Bloor Street, Queens street or yonge street. The neighborhoods in Toronto is what sets it apart from the rest of Canada, soo many different cultures in many areas of town. One of the great things about TO is you can stay away from big box and chains because there is soooooo much more. Go see some theatre or go to a concert because we have the best selection in the country. Have fun in the TO and if you have any more questions just repost.
Edit- OMG please dont go to Baton Rouge, terrible, might as well go to Montana's or Kelsey's. I dont get why people recommend things you can get in other places or are mediocre. |

Great place to visit. Every country in the world has a neighbourhood. Very versatile. The one thing Toronto has in abundance, it is choice. |

Toronto is a great place to visit.
Malls: Yorkdale Mall (Highway 401, and Dufferin Street), lots of varity of stores, as well as resturants. Eaton Centre (Downtown, Bay/Dundas)- 4 floors of stores, space, resturants etc. Scarbrough Town Centre as well as Fairvew Mall.
The beaches are a nice place to go to, the boardwalk wraps around Lake Ontario, starting at Woodbine Ave and ending at the bluffs.
If your looking for restruants theres tons of them, you don't have to look very far. A really good restruant is Batone Rouge located just next to the Eaton Centre, the food is amazing, but it's a bit on the expensive side. |

It all depends on your tastes and age. There's so much to do that I would base my answer on what an individual likes to do. Seeing as though I don't know you, I'll give you some general favourites:
Malls: The Eaton Centre (right downtown); Yorkdale (on the subway line, north end of town); Pacific Mall (north Scarborough, Asian)
Restaurants: Old Spaghetti Factory (downtown); CN Tower; East Side Marios (various locations); Swiss Chalet (Everyone eats there, good value); Duncan House (upscale fine dining, North York, beautiful restaurant); Hard Rock Cafe (various locations - try Rogers Centre)
There's certainly lots to do in Toronto so it's a great place for a tourist. Living here I find that everything worthwhile to do costs SO much money - I wish I lived out in the country. |
