Is toronto nice? |
I don't have much money and I want to move to a nice city. I like NY but, i am told its really expensive. And i thought about LA but, i hear its dangerous so I was thinking about Toronto. Is it nice there? Do you know of any other places that i might be able to live in but, not a very generous budget? |

Toronto is a lot cheaper than NYC and LA.
I hear it's very multicultural and there are a lot of events happening year round. They also have actual seasons.
But seriously, if you're american, why come to Canada? There's so much more opportunity down there then up here. |

Toronto is a great city. What do you mean by "nice"? People are relatively friendly. It could do with some more scenic parts, but it does have some "nice" places if you're willing to go out of your way just a little. Surpringly, not many people do. Get out to High Park once in awhile and the Toronto Islands. Easy, and both are within city limits.
It's not particularly cheap.
How about Montreal? I heard it's a little more affordable. Not only that, but you get to hear French all the time, and you get that nice comfy French feeling, where the people that built the city weren't a bunch of Puritan cold-arses, but a little more warm and fuzzy.
What's wrong with your city? Are things going to change when you move somewhere else? |

Toronto is a very nice place. There's a a city 30mins away (oshawa) I heard it wasn't to expensive. If you go west of toronto( Burlington,Oakville) it gets very expensive. |

Toronto is a nice city, but I think some people over do it with the pros. It is safer than other cities in North America, but that doesn't mean there is no crime. There are definantly areas of Toronto that I would avoid at night. Living in Toronto can be expensive.
A nice affordable city is Raleigh, NC. It's the state capital of North Carolina and it's a very clean and safe city, and they have warm winters! Money magazine does a list of the best places to live in the US, every year. For 2006, Raleigh was number 4 (number 1 being the best), and nearby city Cary, was number 5. http://money.cnn.com/popups/2006/moneymag/bplive_2006/frameset.2.1.exclude.html |

yes toronto is nice, with lots of jobs, but it's an expensive city to live in. if you have a steady job locked up here, id say go for it. |

Sure you can find lots of lower cost living solutions in Toronto, it may be fairly pricey place to live for canadian standards but its still cheaper then living in NY or LA and you dont have to worry about the terrorists attacking LA with Nukes (im a 24 Nut). We also have healthcare and stuff that can save you money. |

You sure don't seem to sure of yourself. Not a good quality in someone making a big move like you want.
Any city, even a nice one like Toronto, will eat you alive fresh off the bus.
First thing you need to know, it's cold in Toronto. I mean really cold and a lot too. That and you not being a Canadian citizen might make it tough to find a job. The cost of living is high all over Canada because of the high taxes.
You best stick home with mommy. |
