Yes, in most places in Ontario they will accept American money however, the exchange rate you will receive will vary from place to place and generally will be a few percentage points in favor of the retailer. It's a better idea to exchange a small amount ( a few hundred, at most) at a time at a bank or currency exchange booth, where you will get the same exchange rate for the entire amount. These places charge you a fee for you to exchange the money but it usually works out to be cheaper. Better yet, bring some Canadian cash with you, from your local bank at home, that way you will get a good exchange rate and probably save the fee's.

Hope you have a good trip!

it's one of the most valuable currency

In most places you can use it. However, I would recommend exchanging a couple hundred at the border for the places that don't. You sometimes don't want to look like a tourist.

US money is good anywhere in Ontario, Canada. If you decide to exchange money do it at a bank or go to a Walmart in Canada. You will get the best exchange rates at these places. Do not exchange at the border, rates are not good there.

I wouldn't say it's good in all of Ontario, Canada, especially rural Ontario. It is good at major tourist attractions, but the less-tourist you are with the place, the more difficult it will be to use your American money. Businesses will probably attempt to accomadate you, but it will take time and confussion on their part, and hold up everyone else waiting behind you.
