its Halifax Nova Scotia.
and actually.. although its not the east coast Quebec is still "eastern canada" anybody that has even flown knows that :)

I think your answer is Halifax, NS but Montreal was a good answer too. We do have one of the largest ports on the east coast in terms of quantity of cargo. (Not sure where Junivive got her info)

The port of Montreal is open year round (since 1964) and is (or at least used to be) the final reachable port on the St. Laurence Seaway during winter months. When the rest of the seaway freezes over, ships from all over the world are still able to deliver their goods as far inland as Montreal, and then they are transferred to cargo cars on trains or trucks to head to its destination.

East coast doesn't mean 600 miles up the Gulf of St.Lawrence and the St.Lawrence River. East coast of Canada is the Atlantic which means Halifax. Read up on capitals and Halifax will jump out at you.

Okay well montreal is in the middle of quebec so it doesnt have a port and espetially not on the east coast
And the largest east coast port is by far the Hallifax port
