I've been to Quebec many times and will continue going, it's a beautiful city with lots to see with very friendly people. Whenever I go there it feels like I'm in Europe!!

Do you believe everything people tell you, or do you ever like to check things out for yourself?

Some people come to Quebec and try to treat it like any other province or state. You have to have the mind set that this is much more like a European country here.

As an anglophone in Quebec, I have been here almost 40 years. The province is not perfect, and there are a few flakes that like to give Americans and English Canadians attitude, but most store owners know that this is bad for business and will make every effort to be helpful and courteous.

If you are a tourist coming to Montreal or Quebec City, you will not have a problem. If you go to smaller rural towns like Lac St. Jean or Shawinagan, then you may have a bit of trouble with the language and the attitude.

Montreal is a party city with a casino, and loads of festivals in the summer. Quebec City is more touristy with lots to see, cruises, tour guides, etc.

As for Montreal being "smelly"? That person must have been visiting the east end where the oil refineries are located, or near Lasalle where there is a large Seagrams whiskey plant. I noticed a lot more unpleasant smells in L.A. and San Francisco when I was visiting there.

I've heard that you are an ignorant c**t. Is this true?

It's really not! I've lived here for a while (in Quebec City) and it's just like any other city or province. I've never been there as a tourist but there are lots of things to visit and seriously, the view is just amazing. Of course some people are idiots and everything, but there are in every city right? I do think it can be kind of expensive to visit, but if you don't go to the touristic restaurants and are able to find more interesting ones, it's really not that worse. Québec is amazing!

No.

Actually I think Americans believe themselves a little too much and it's easy for them to talk about what someone else's said. I'm from Quebec and I've been living in Texas for 8 years now. When I first came down here people were asking me if it was true that bread was $5 a loaf and stuff like that. So No it's not and people from Quebec love Americans. The only thing we don't like is the fact that we are a french town and yet nobody tries to talk any French. So you might have a hard times getting understood by the old Quebec people that don't understand and don't speak English, but other than that, I think you will find that Quebec is one of the most beautiful City in this side of the world and also that the people there are extrememely friendly. So don't believe everything you hear..
Have fun

I have been there twice. The last time I went with my wife. As we were approaching, it looked so beautiful my wife thought she had died and gone to heaven. Very picturesque and romantic. It is Europe in North America.

I have lived in Quebec my whole life. It`s a beautiful Province with wonderful people. Don`t believe rumours from people who have never been here.

Quebec City is quaint and nice. But its also a tourist trap and very expensive. Montreal has a smelly odor about it. The rest of Quebec seemed pretty good.

Some people are rude, and some people are nice, but the majority of them are nice. The weather is good, if your looking for a cold place to go. Dont listen to your friends, research or visit the place before you judge if its nice or not.

Well, I have a Canadian friend and she reckons if you are not one of them, they will not welcome you.

More than true, it's a fact.
