Jobs most needed in Canada?

Hi. One day I hope to work in Canada. But I just wanted to know what jobs/skills are most needed/wanted. What type of careers are the best to emigrate with? Thanks, I live in England by the way.

my friends have just moved to canada, it's apparently the most difficult country to get into. they work on a point system, something like the better qualified you are the higher your point score and the better your chance of getting there. they like doctors nurses vets etc. good luck. it's a great country!

By far, nursing! We have a severe nursing shortage country wide.

It is hard for doctors trained outside of Canada to get a job in Canada without a lot of additional certification (Canada has very strict standards), but nurses can usually transition much easier and sooner.

Biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, research, and engineering is also always in demand. Working in the oil and gas sector is also a big area. Information Technology is also always a draw.

Good luck!

Nursing, physicians, and other health care professions (ie lab techs, etc).

These jobs are plentiful, especially in rural communities. SErvices are having to shut down (our ER has been closed all week during the evenings due to nursing shortages) because there are no staff.

Now, nursing is a tough job but if you like it, you certainly won't have any trouble finding a position.

Good luck!

You can check out the Government website (www.gc.ca) and see the list for the Immigration points system. Then check out the best Canadian jobs on workopolis.com

Right now one of the best areas is in IT. If you have the right IT qualifications, your work permit would be greatly expedited. You need to become very familiar with the Canadian immigration site. There are many other sites that can help you, but it is not easy to immigrate to Canada. Best of luck with your plans.

When i was much younger i went out there as a nanny for two years on a domestic visa - after working for three years on that visa i couldhave applied for a permanent visa but had family commitments.

Suited me very well as a job cos i got to live with family who became like my family. Also lots of other english nannies around so social like during day and in evening was fab. Also was given my own car and taken on family holidays.

One of the best times of my life to be honest!
