Toronto is a great city to live it. Yes, living expenses are high, but you have a tonne of culture to explore, great shopping, restaurants, museums, art galleries. Each neighborhood has a unique feel to it. If you live in the burbs it is a little tricky to get downtown without a car. |

Toronto is VERY expensive to live - rent for a basic apartment can run from 1000 - 2000 or more per month. I would try moving somewhere on the outer parts of the city - scarborough or barrie, you can always commute and its way less money. |

The standard of living, if that is what you mean is very high in Toronto. It is also a very safe city. The cost of living may be the highest in Canada, but it is not very high compared to other world cities like New York or Paris or Tokyo. You will have a good life in T.O. |

I just read in the Toronto Star last weekend that a family buying a first house in Toronto would need an income of $80,000. That shuts a lot of people out of the housing market. |

The living expenses such as in apartment, condos, houses or lofts are VERY high in Toronto... You need at least a good salary a minimum of $30,000 yearly to be able to afford. The transportation is expensive $2.75CAD each way and its going up. Being in the city, you attract certain weirdos and violence is not suprisingly on the rise every weekend. Traffic is a headache if you're commuting outside GTA.
If the social life is what you're after, Toronto has a decent entertainment choices... And Toronto has a good clubbing district along Entertainment district. |
