I'm a Canadian living in the US. I never realized how expensive it is down here with some things. Consumer things are cheaper for sure. But those life requirement type things like taxes and health care are just retarted expensive. Canadian EI and CPP cap out in Canada at around $2000 or so. Here in the US you pay forever...no cap. The more you make the more you pay. The worse part is you get nothing from it. The Americans sure know how to run the properganda though. As a Canadian I grew up thinking Americans paid less tax than us......thats crap. Plus there beer really really sucks. 68 days and I'm heading home. The one thing they do well with though is tax free per diems. Cha Ching.

go ahead move but I hope you don't get sick
do you keep up to date with news ?
just one example recently a teenager died because the health coverage her parents were paying into decided they would not pay for a liver transplat that was over 10 thousand dollars.. EVen having a baby there without coverage is expensive

Cost of health care is WAY more though.

It can depend on what part of California and what part of Canada you are talking about. No I don't think that So. California is cheaper than many places in the US. Because while the income tax is higher, the health care is low cost. Housing prices are cheaper in many areas of Canada or similar in cost. Car insurance is definitely cheaper that is for sure. The sales tax is more and some food items are definitely more but I find the selection and quality of items is better in Canada for some areas.

I agree with everything that Harry said. I will add that there are huge variations within BC and within CA depending on the region.

It all depends on your choice of lifestyle.

Weed is cheaper & better in Canada & Republicans don't rule the world.

Is that a question or statement?

Cost of living, in general, is cheaper in the US than Canada. More competition makes prices lower. Lower taxes also.

To AngelaO
My health care cost's me $5 a visit to the doctor and $5 for a script. All you need to do is get a job with coverage, it's not that hard if you try. You listen to too many horror stories about US health care. Canadians are 1st to snipe back about the inaccuracies in the US media about Canada's health plan, but are last to admit there are the same inaccuracies about the US.
