Search websites in BC under accomodations, there are many nice peaceful places, you can rent a canoe - listen to the loons, zone out - my favourite park is Manning Park by Princeton.
The deer walk through your campsite, the birds eat out of your hand ..
Prices vary of couse from Province to Province, Vancouver Island is a beautiful setting, check the smaller islands off the west coast, Earls Cove on the mainland above Gibsons Landing is kind of a cool place.
How about renting a houseboat instead of a cabin? Check houseboat rentals in the okanagan valley and for Shuswap Lake. |

You might try Manitoulin Island. Off the most beaten of tracks but not really remote so it is not an expedition to get there. Also, lots of small resort operators with cabins to rent.
