Mailing from U.S. to Canada?
How long does it generally take to send a letter from, say, Tennessee to Canada? I sent a letter on the 7th, and they STILL haven't received it yet! What do you think's going on?
It all depends on the mail flow and what's happening at the border, if customs feels threatened or anything out of the ordinary happens then they put a hold on items (even letters) and check everything. And because it's close to Christmas some things just take longer.

If it's just a letter, then it should go through pretty quickly. But if it's a letter packet where you had to fill out a customs form it will take longer. Sounds like its a simple letter though. Not sure. Good luck.

2 weeks is the general turn around time, unless of course it was held up in customs. I've had packages there for 3 months! But a letter should be there today if it was sent on the 7th.

My mom sent a package from texas to canada and it took about 14 days or 2 weeks. I just got it yesturday and then today im expecting another.

Canada customs is one of the most strict. if you sent anything in the letter it could be set aside in customs. it's especially slow this time of year. customs can legally hold any item as long as they feel necessary, so I'd send another letter out, it'll probably get there in about a week.

I don't understand why it hasn't arrived yet. My mail to Canada usually takes three days from PA.

I live way up in the middle of nowhere in Canada and am addicted to ebay... Most of the stuff I buy from US sellers takes 2 weeks to get here. With the christmas season and the amount of mail doubling it may take a few extra days. Hope it gets there safe and sound.
I also had a parcel from UPS that was supposed to be delivered in 3 days and it took 3 weeks to get here.....

Because of the Christmas season expect mail to Canada to take a long time. Usually a letter from Tennessee to Canad should take about 7 days. Barring holidays and acts of god.
