Montreal Quebec Residents?

Hi I just visited the fabulous city of Montreal Quebec at the end of march. I fell in love with it and I am seriously thinking of relocating. Many people are telling me I will never survive out there. What is the minimum wage and also what are the price ranges of say a 3 bedroom apartment...Do U like living in Montreal yourself and why?

Montreal isn't too great, I live in Chomedey Laval, and its about 10-15 minutes from downtown montreal, i like her here because its a little more quite, min. wage If I'm not mistaken is 7.50, or 8.50$. And a three bedroom can go anywhere from 500$ to 700$. Like I said I like Laval better then montreal, its more quite...

Montreal is great :)
of course you'll survive.
the minimum wage is now $8.00 per hour (+ tips at some places)
-and at mcdonalds you get $8.25 per hour but no tips.
There's different areas, the closer you get to downtown the more expensive, but there is a lot of choice.

the price ranges vary, but a 3 bedroom appartment is a lot less expensive than the other big cities in canada such as toronto or vancouver.

Hey, i've live here for 25 years and i don't speak any french and i work at the airoport and just bought a triplex the life is great here, and i just love it. So if you want to come and live here don't care much about what people have to say you "NEED FRENCH" bull....

:)
It's BEAUTIFUL! I live in Michigan but I'm from Montreal originally. Montreal has plenty to do year round, as they all said, and it's a great place to be!

The minimum wage in Quebec is $8.00

I would pay big money to live there because it's my "home" without technically being my home! It's so beautiful and people are amazing there and ccanadian food is way better than American! hehe

I also live in Laval. It's pretty good here! Montreal and Laval are great in my opinion. Great food, great night life, and it's multicultural! Maybe what they meant by, ''you wouldn't survive'', is that it's French here! And you have to speak French very well to get a job. Minimum wage is around $8.50 and for the apartment, it really depends! I've seen some for 800 and then some for 500 or 600. It depends on the area! Good luck!

As mentionned, the minimum wage is currently 8$hour since may 2007.

You can easily find a three or four bedroom apartment for 900$ - 1200$ per month. Some of them are really huge near downtown Montreal.

Being bilingual (french and english) is a real asset in Montreal but not a necessity. If you do speak both language, it will be easier and faster to get a job.

I really enjoy living in Montreal because you don't need a car. The subway system is quite efficient and affordable. For an adult montly pass, it's 65$ per month.

As a friend said: Such a great city, you can get out the door, walk in any direction and buy a broom within 10 minutes ;-)

Absolutely! (Thanks for the compliment by the way!)

Montreal is a great city with plenty to do throughout the year!

Just wait until Festival Season starts!

Minimum wage? Walk into any McDonald's and ask at the counter, lol!

Rental prices for a three-bedroom apartment? It really depends upon which neighborhood you would like to live in.

Any idea?
