Multiculturalism makes the country more interesting...

That's a hard assignment, because there are so many positives to multiculturalism. However, if you are looking for an homogeneous society, then multiculturalism will not work.
The only downside to multiculturalism is that in some cases, the members of different cultural groups do not assimilate - that is, instead of becoming part of the Canadian society, but retaining their cultural identities and values, they may form into little enclaves and behave as though they were still in the land of their birth.
