My friend is going to canada. with stop-over at seattle, usa. will she need a transit visa?
I don't think so. My stop over in LA i didn't have to. You fill out a form they give you on the plane, it just asks where you plan to stay how long for and a bunch of boring stuff. For a short stop over you just write "in transit".
On my stop over it was only 1hr and a half. they made us wait in a long line to show our passports and they scanned our finger print, and made us look at a little web cam style thing that i assume took out photo. All that drama was so we could sit and wait for an hour in a room right next to where the plane was. It was really boring.
The great part was there was a free drinks machine for soft drink, tea and coffee. Maybe even hot chocolate. And there was a bowl of fruit and packets of chips too. They were also free. It kind of made up for the waiting in line for ages.
She should check up to be sure about the visa but if she doesn't actually leave the airport then its not likely she will need one. I'm not gonna say for sure coz i dont want her getting in trouble.
Hope this helps and I hope she has an awesome trip.
