My cat Jake owns me

My husband is going to Montreal next week and asked me what souvenier I want-what should I tell him?

I´ve never been there, and I told him chewing gum (the Extra gum in Germany runs out of flavor so fast), but he wants to know what else. What would you suggest?

He brought me a Hard Rock Cafe pin for my jean jacket on the last trip, so no more HRC items.

Whatever the gift, it will be a gift of love. Not all husbands buy their wife anything when they go on trips. You are one of a small bunch that do. Montreal is a huge city. Perhaps he could get you a Big T-shirt (normally used by women as a night shirt). Or perhaps a hockey item, since Montreal is a huge hockey city. Your husband knows you best. Just tell him that you know he will pick out the perfect gift for you. Just whisper in his ear after you say that, and say, "no knicknacks please ok?" That will solve most of the HRC problems.

Chewing gum?!?

Are you kidding me with this???

At least ask him to get you some maple syrup flavored cookies in the shape of a maple leaf or something!

Or maybe some maple syrup spread?

It's delicious on toast, believe me!

A Hockey Jersey of the Montreal Canadiens. It is the only emblem that signifies You or Your Husband visited Montreal.

I personally love the maple syrup from Montreal. You can get wonderful little hard candies there made from pure maple syrup in the form of maple leafs. I also like some of their authors and artists. You could ask him to look for a short novel in English for you or something.

(1) A whole Montreal smoked meat brisket (I believe they are admissable to the E.E.C. countries). Yummy! (2) Maple syrup.
