ebay is a great alternative. also, i'd see where the closest outlet mall is, they always have huge sales.
i'd also see if there is a Big Lots where you moved, too.
hope this helped :} |

Pretty much everything in downtown is expensive.
If you take the C-train to one of the outer malls you'll probably find cheaper clothers.
Value Village as one of the other gals mentioned is definately cheaper (used clothes) You can get some great stuff there if you look.
If you head up to Sunridge Mall in the NE there are some decent stores up there. |

Contact me as I am moving and been looking for some one to give away some of my clothing as I can only wear 1 outfit at a time and if you are my size they are yours if you like them. Most are office type wear and some summer which is coming up fast here. It always amazes me when a female has closets full of clothing, but never any thing to wear. Not sure how it works for you to contact me so that is a question I have as to how to do that. I will watch for a response on this one. I hope you are my size. |

Sears downtown store is closing out - there's some good buys there. Also, lots of markdown racks at Zellers Chinook Centre store. |

The reason prices are high is because Calgary is an expensive place. But I do not know where to get cheap clothes. |

If you like champagne clothes on a beer budget (that's me) here are some tips. TREND in Kensignton has name brand consignment clothes for less then what you would pay in the store. Also, you can take in your old clothes (obviously they have to be in good shape) and get credit for them to use at TREND.
And here's another one of my dirty secrets, I will go into a high end store like Aritzia, try on a bunch of pants and tops... Whatever ones I like, I take down the brand and style number and then bid for them on Ebay.ca...
I also stock up my nice, yet inexpensive wardrobe with items from Urban Trade (They have a huge sale section at the Deerfoot Outlet Mall... another good place for bargains, by the way), Army and Navy (You REALLY) have to dig there, and Jacob Connexion (the one at Market Mall has a pretty good sale section) ... I find this time of year to be fantastic for bargains. Boxing day is not really the best time for specials... It's normally the weeks that follow where all the sale stuff gets very heavily discounted.
That's all I've got. Happy digging! |

Sears is the best one to shop. They are having a warehouse sale now. Discontinue items (good quality) are very cheap. Take a CTrain to Lions Park, Sears is just in the mall there. Hope this help you. Or walk to Sears Downtown, they are closing this store (moving to Outlet mall). |

Theres a great jean place on 17th ave called Unlimited Blue. I shop there lots. It all depends on what kind of style you like too. Downtown is great for little clothing stores, you just have to look around. (Way better in the summer time).
If thats not working for you, you can always try second hand stores, There are 2 Value Villiges in teh city. Also try Winners, there is a couple of those around too, one by Heritige and one in Shawnessy are big ones. |
