It depends on what type of person you are.

I think it is fairly safe to say stay out of Scarborough and Parkdale unless you like crime.

Personally myself because I'm young and have no children I'd only want to live in the financial district where I'm close enough to nightlife yet not in student living conditions.

The Beaches are really popular.

Well I feel for you because I moved from Stoon to Toronto a few years ago. I can say right now, your gonna love it here!! Its the best place to live in Canada IMHO. If you can afford it I would recommend staying in the downtown core. Its very safe and there is endless things to do. Stay away from Jane and Finch for sure, possibly Scarborough not because its unsafe just because its not that nice. If you are buying a place there are about 100 condo towers coming up right now so there should be lots to choose from. You are going to be shcoked at how muc space you get for your money, but once you get used to small living space its all good, because there is soo much to do outside your home. All in all Toronto is a much safer place to be than Saskatchewan if you look at statistics and dont listen to the media, especially considering Toronto itself has five times as many people as the entire province of sask. If you have any more questions just repost! Have fun!

There are many other safe nieghborhood questions ... check the "search for questions" bar and you'll get lots of info.

Stay out of East Scarbough, and stay away from any part of Jane street and Kipling ave areas, these are full of rival gangs, and not good areas to live safely

GerberaMom
Stay out of Jane/Finch and the Malvern area (Markham/Sheppard) of Scarborough, for sure.

Might be too much shock for you coming from Saskatchewan to be living downtown but at least you would be close to work/entertainment/shopping.

There are too many 'bad' pockets of every area of Toronto to list them all, really. I live in Scarborough, in a quiet area with lots of retirees but there was a (really rare) shooting a week ago, just south of our street, so you never know when bad stuff will happen, even in good areas.

Hi lil miss.

Don't move anywhere near Bloor Street West and Landsdowne. Junkie city there.

Jane and Finch is bling bling and dope dope

Regent Park is just naked poverty

Queen Street East and Sherbourne is skid row

A few big apartment complexes (more than 4 tall buildings) is usually not good.

Parkdale and King is mentally ill people

I think thats about it.

Jane and Finch
some parts of the Danforth
regent park
eglington
queen st (kind of there lots of places to shop there

Nice places

the annex
forest hill
rosedale
etc...etc...

toronto is a pretty bad place to live in if you dont know your way around
