No, you don't need a passport. A birth certificate and some form of photo id is fine. Clifton Hill is right over the Rainbow Bridge. There are lots of fun things to do there such as haunted houses and wax museums. Make sure to go on the Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds. There is also something called Journey Behind the Falls in Canada. Make sure to see the falls at night as they're illuminated!

Sadly nobody gave you the right answer I am affraid since regulations changed in date of 31st December 2006.

It all depends on the way you travel. If you travel by air and sea, then YES you need a passport.

If you travel by road, then NO you are still safe, but not for so long. You still can get in without a passport and with a birth certificate.

Contact the US Department of State for more info, or the local canadian embassy.

You'll only need a original birth certificate or a certified copy of it and a photo ID.

Visit, "Cliftonhill.com"-- You will find so many fun things to do.

It's a must to go to Clifton Hill...

Zhentou is wrong, pay no attention to him, you do not need passports to drive into canada, in fact your parents won't even need them but if they have them it will make it easier. There is lots to do, marineland, which is canada's version of seaworld, the maid of the mist boat ride, clifton hill has haunted houses, wax museums, rides, a fun house, a maze, mini putt, arcades, ripley's and guiness museums and more, there is a butterfly conservatory and botanical garden, the skylon tower, an imax theatre featuring journey over the falls, there is a cool fountain show at the fallsview casino ( just in the atrium, not the actual casino so everyone can watch it ), there is a tight rope walker that walks between the hotel roofs, there's dufferin islands ( a really nice park with many islands to explore and ducks and geese to feed ), they light the falls up at nighttime and on friday and sunday nights they have fireworks over the falls, there is the fallsview waterpark which is really fun. All this stuff is on the canadian side I don't know what is on the american side, i've never been.

if you're from the U.S. you just need your birth certificate. Especially if you're travelling with your parents.

Your parents will need passports for each of you and in addition they will need proof they are your parents and also will need your birth certificates.
The falls themselves are very, very spectacular from either side but also on the Canadian side is Madam Toussaudes' wax museum with all their famous guests both old and new including your present president and all the way back to Jesus with his apostles at the last supper.Enjoy your vacation!!
